Time-Span: 6,000 years ago
The Bible tells us in the book of Genesis that God created
everything in six days about 6,000 years ago. It doesn't go into a whole lot of
detail about the first time period in Earth's history, but it does explain that
what God made was “very good” as He put it. During this period, along with the
creation of our planet and outer space, animal and plant life, humans, water,
atmosphere and many other things were created by God on the first six days of
this period.
On Day 1, God created light, time and space; Day 2 was used
to create the atmosphere; on Day 3, God made all the baramins of plant and made
dry land appear; on Day 4, God put the sun, moons, stars and planets into
place; Day 5, our Creator made the sea and flying creatures; Day 6 was used to
create land animals and man.
Creationists also know that God made everything in six,
literal 24-hour days. Many people think that God created everything over a long
extended period of time and that the six days described in Genesis were really
millions of years of time. This can't be the case for a number of reasons such
as the fact that in the original Hebrew
text, the word for “day” is “yom”. When “yom” is used to mean a 24-hour day, it
will be used with the words “evening”, “morning” or with a number. This is how
it is used in Genesis chapter 1.
Paleogeography:
During this time, the earth was probably one supercontinent
called Rodinia. This supercontinent later broke up during Noah's Flood.
Fauna:
God created all the different baramins, or “created kinds” of
animals and humans during this period. There is variation within each “kind”
due to natural selection, but they don't change from one animal into another
totally different kind of animal like evolution teaches.
Flora:
God created plants on Day 3 of the creation week.
End of the Period:
This period was the most
serene in earth's history, and it was ended by a sudden act of disobedience in
the Garden of Eden from the first humans: Adam and Eve. Adam and Eve disobeyed
God's order not to eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. They
ate from the tree anyway (partially thanks to the fact that Satan, disguised as
a serpent tempted them into eating the tree's fruit, but Adam and Eve were
still guilty). God clothed Adam and Eve and banished them from the Garden. Adam
and Eve's disobedience was the very first sin and the punishments included
eventual death, bloodshed, disease and countless others. This will only be
restored after the return of Jesus Christ.
